Identify the property information you need
Keep the address-level radon information, any existing measurements and details of occupied basements. Ask the relevant local authority or a qualified adviser how the rules apply to the property and the UK nation where it is located.
Arrange testing with the occupier
A representative domestic test depends on normal occupation and correct detector placement. Explain what the detectors are for, agree dates and make clear who will return them to the laboratory. Record any extended vacancy or building work.
Document the response
Keep the report and the advice received, along with communication to tenants. If work is recommended, arrange access and make sure the occupier knows how any ongoing system should operate. Save the follow-up measurement with the installation record.
Get advice specific to your duties
Housing and workplace requirements are not interchangeable. An occupied rental home, communal workplace and basement business can raise different questions.
